White Rabbit

 One evening I was sitting on my chair and was sending the mail regarding the status of the current project that I and my team were working on to the manager of our software company. There was this small table near the sofa, that was in my hall. The table was glowing in the evening sunlight from the window near the sofa. It was incredible to watch. Suddenly one of the legs of the chair seemed to be blurring in and out like it was glitching. At first, I thought that it might be some kind of an optical illusion. But it lasted for minutes. Then I was really curious to check it out. When I got up to check the table the glitching got stopped. I just assumed that my eyes were playing tricks on me. So, I just didn’t really care about it and forgot it. Later the night I had a dream, it was just a blank empty unending black space. It looked as if I was in space. But something really felt weird about the place. I heard a beautiful woman's voice. It was whispering something in my ears. I couldn’t make anything out of it. Then suddenly a female body appeared in front of me. She was naked. She was flying in this free non-ending space like an angel. I couldn’t see her face since she was flying with her back being faced with me. She was a blonde woman with a thin body and a nice waist. She had some kind of creature tattooed on her back. She was quite far away, so I wasn’t able to make out what the creature was. While I was weirdly attracted to all of these crazy things, I was woke up by my phone alarm. The next day went smoothly, without any previous day’s weirdness but I couldn’t remove my mind from the other night’s dream. There were a lot of questions on my mind. I got ready for my night’s sleep. I had this strange yet exciting feeling of encountering the enigmatic black space and the naked lady. I know that it’s not certain that I would have the same dream, but I had this gut feeling that I will have that strange dream. I passed out as I was thinking about the dream. Suddenly my body started to feel weightless. I entered the vast, empty black space. I knew that I was experiencing the same dream like the previous night. I heard the whispering sound of a woman, this time trying really hard to find what the voice was saying. It said, “follow the white rabbit, escape the lie”. The naked women appeared. She was far away from me. The voice again said something. It was, “ swim Dario, swim! Swim towards a new lie, a new simulation” in a husky voice. I didn’t know what the voice meant as a lie and also I wondered how it knew my name. I tried to wave my hand in a way that resembled the swimming action. I felt my body thrusting forward. The naked lady was moving faster than me. As I moved in front, I noticed the tattoo again. It was a rabbit. At this moment I figured what the white rabbit real meant. I followed the naked woman. She was swimming in this vacant space joyfully. I followed her as instructed. As I approached her, I heard her laughing noises. I felt heavenly. We both approached a bright white light. It was so bright that anyone who sees it might go blind. the naked lady moved into the bright hole of light effortlessly. I was frightened to go inside it. Yet my heart wanted to go in. in the fleeting moment, out of a curiosity, I moved forward into the bright hole. My heartbeat started to rise. I felt as if I was free-falling into a never-ending pit of light. It sent a shiver down my spine and then I woke up out of shock. I got out of my bed and walked to my living room. It was the same living room that I lived in for the past 10 years, yet I felt something odd about it. Everything felt different than usual. I moved towards the window and pulled the curtains off. The picture of the world that I was seeing was really wonderful and different. It kind of looked like the ones in our world but a bit different. people looked and talked differently. I was shaking and taken aback. I thought that I might be still in a dream, but I’m not. It is all real. I tried to complete the puzzle. Then I remembered something that the voice said to me in the dream. “it’s all a lie, it’s all a simulation”. I understood that I’m in a new world, might be a new simulation. I don’t know what am I going to do now or why this is all happening to me and who was that naked woman. and whether there is only one simulation or more of them. who knows whether how many simulations are there yet to be explored.
